Credit Report

Required documents

  • Recent credit report
  • PAN card copy
  • Aadhaar copy
  • Loan account statement or NOC
  • Correspondence with lender highlighting the error

Contact order

  1. Credit Bureau Dispute Desk
  2. Lender Customer Support
  3. Grievance Officer / Nodal Officer
  4. Regulator (RBI/CORES/OMBUDSMAN)

Timeline

  • Bureau acknowledgment: 1–3 days
  • Investigation and response: 7–14 days
  • Correction or rejection notice: 30–45 days

Escalation path

  • Follow up with bureau after 7 days if acknowledgement is pending
  • Escalate to lender Grievance Officer after 10 days if the bureau requires lender confirmation
  • Lodge a complaint with the banking/financial ombudsman if no action in 45 days
  • Use the Bureau’s escalation mechanism if the issue is still unresolved
