  4. Regulator / Ombudsman

Timeline

  • Lender confirmation: 5–10 business days
  • Bureau update: 15–30 days after lender update
  • Full status correction: 30–45 days

Escalation path

  • Send lender confirmation and request bureau resubmission
  • File a formal dispute with the bureau if the status is unchanged after 15 days
  • Escalate to nodal officer if the lender does not act
  • Approach the ombudsman if the bureau still retains incorrect status after 45 days
