A customer has made an EMI payment on time, but the lender or credit bureau shows the account as overdue or delinquent.

Payment Issue

Required documents

  • Loan account statement
  • Bank statement or payment confirmation screenshot
  • UPI / NEFT / IMPS reference number
  • EMI receipt or acknowledgement email
  • Repayment schedule showing due date

Contact order

  1. Customer Support
  2. Grievance Redressal Officer
  3. Nodal Officer
  4. Credit Bureau / Regulator

Timeline

  • Initial query response: 2–5 business days
  • Issue resolution with correct posting: 7–10 business days
  • Escalation to higher officers: additional 7–10 business days

Escalation path

  • Follow up with lender customer support after 3 working days if unresolved
  • Send a written grievance to the Grievance Redressal Officer if no correction is made in 7 days
  • Approach the Nodal Officer after 10 days with all evidence
  • File a complaint with the Banking Ombudsman or RBI-integrated portal if correction is delayed beyond 30 days
