A fraudulent loan has been taken in the consumer’s name without their consent.

Fraud & Identity

Required documents

  • Credit report showing the fraudulent loan
  • PAN card, Aadhaar, and identity proofs
  • FIR or police complaint copy
  • Correspondence with lender and credit bureau
  • Any suspicious application details received

  1. Police / Cyber Crime Cell
  2. Credit Bureau Fraud Desk
  3. Lender Grievance Officer
  4. Banking Ombudsman / Regulator

Timeline

  • FIR registration: 1 day
  • Bureau fraud acknowledgement: 1–3 days
  • Investigation: 15–45 days
  • Deletion/correction: 30–60 days

Escalation path

  • File an FIR immediately and get a copy
  • Send the FIR to the credit bureau and lender to start fraud investigation
  • Follow up with the bureau after 14 days if no response
  • Take the matter to the ombudsman if the lender or bureau is unresponsive
